AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine’s deer hunt is finding began with a particular archery season in designated locations.

The state’s “expanded archery” season began Saturday. The season runs by way of Dec. 14 and permits hunters to take deer in densely populated locations. The state designates the locations about the state close to cities such as Portland, Augusta, Lewiston and Bangor.

Archers are advised to verify nearby and state laws ahead of hunting.

The typical archery season starts Oct. five, and it is followed by the firearms season, which begins Nov. four. There’s also a season for people today who hunt deer utilizing muzzleloaders.
