The ivy is permitted to develop more than the higher fence at the side of my garden that runs alongside the path and the burn, below the trees.
It is in complete flower just now and when the sun shines on it, it really is definitely alive with enormous butterflies. Peacocks and Red Admirals mainly.
I am a hopeless photographer (apart from, I am only 5’2″, I can not stetch higher adequate to get a clear photo) but I managed to get a shot of a couple of of them.
The underside of their wings is so nicely camouflaged to appear like dead leaves that they practically disappear.
There are 3 clear ones in the photo, but I am quite confident there had been six there.
