Storm delayed start out

The tournament was slated to start Thursday, October 17 but was delayed a single day by higher winds and heavy rain. To compensate for the delay, anglers fished morning and afternoon sessions on Friday.

“Lake St Francis did not disappoint as it truly showed itself even with the cold front and sturdy winds,” stated Bob Izumi, Captain of Group Canada and a tournament organizer. “I was so content for Group Mexico as they had in no way fished for smallmouth bass. When I saw them weigh in the biggest 5-fish limit of the complete occasion at 25 pounds in the morning session, it showed me what excellent anglers they are.

All competitors are quite achieved anglers, and just about every nation had bags of 20 pounds or much more through the tournament. Group Canada produced me proud and it is a memory that will final a lifetime,” he added.

All fish released

All fish caught through the occasion we released alive following every single session. Some occasion proceeds will go to CSIA’s Maintain Canada Fishing system.

The occasion also marked the starting of the Canadian International Sportfishing Association, which is operating with related organizations in other nations to help future Pan American Bass Championships. The groups are operating to re-instate fishing competitors at the Olympics, which integrated the occasion till 1900.

The subsequent Pan American Sportfishing Bass Championship will be held subsequent year in Mexico.
