Montana’s common large game season, which includes for deer and elk, starts on Oct. 26 and runs till Dec. 1.

In preparation for the season, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) has issued reminders for hunters in Northwest Montana’s Area 1.

FWP will have 5 large game verify stations set up on weekends at Highway two west of Kalispell Highway 83 north of Swan Lake Highway 200 on the west finish of Thompson Falls Highway 93 close to Olney and Highway 37 on Canoe Gulch Road east of Libby. Hunters are necessary to quit at verify stations they encounter.

Hunters really should be conscious of the distinctive regulations located on lands enrolled in FWP’s Block Management Plan, which contains 710,000 acres in Area 1, largely owned by Weyerhaeuser, F.H. Stoltze Land &amp Lumber Corporation and Stimson Lumber Corporation.

Hunters require to be conscious of the Libby Chronic Wasting Illness Management Zone, which contains portions of districts 100, 103 and 104, and the specific guidelines that apply.

Hunters really should also verify with FWP about alterations to antlerless hunts in districts 122 and 130, and are reminded that mule deer buck hunting in the North Fisher portion of hunting district 103 close to Libby is permit-only.

Hunters with faded licenses can replace them at no price at the regional FWP workplace or by going to fwp.mt.gov. Lastly, hunters are reminded to be bear conscious.
