Eldora’s annual Spring Luau and Pond Skim final April went down in the books as a lively celebration immediately after an exceptional winter season, and the day was not brief of crazy costumes, flamingos, and lots of wipe outs into the icy water. Fortunately, Warren Miller Entertainment was there to capture it all on film for its 70th annual film, which is premiering in Colorado at the Boulder Theater on October 7th.

The new film, titled “Timeless,” presented by Volkswagen, celebrates the previous seven decades of ski cinematography and options returning stars like Glen Plake, as effectively as some of Warren’s favored locations, like Switzerland, Austria, and Mike Wiegele’s Heli Skiing in Blue River, British Columbia. The Warren Miller Entertainment (WME) film crew also took benefit of the Rocky Mountain’s record snow year final season and filmed at two classic Colorado ski destinations: Eldora and Silverton Mountain.

“We’re thrilled and honored that Eldora is featured in Warren Miller’s “Timeless,”” says Sam Bass, Advertising and marketing Director at Eldora. “The people today of Boulder County have usually loved the low-important, neighborhood vibe of their backyard mountain, and now the planet will get to know Eldora. It is also the hometown hill for Warren Miller Entertainment, so it is specially cool to be incorporated Eldora in the 70th anniversary film.”

The crew at Warren Miller produced frequent trips to Eldora through the 2018/19 season to film, capturing events like the Bob Beattie Derby, the Trick Ditch Banked Slalom, and also hit the jackpot filming immediately after March’s infamous “Bomb Cyclone”, when Eldora got hammered with 18” of snow overnight.

More than on Colorado’s Western Slope in the San Juan mountains, WME captured some significant mountain skiing at Silverton with two achieved freeriders, Connery Lundin and Lorraine Huber, along with Olympic mogul phenom Jaelin Kauf.

Silverton Mountain, which was in a position to extend its winter season by means of April due to late season snow, delivered excellent situations for WME’s spring film shoot. “The snowpack was phenomenal when we filmed there in late April,” says WME Associate Producer Ian Anderson. “The fantastic situations produced for enjoyable shoot. Silverton is the ultimate backdrop for our athletes.”
